The inner-German border
On 9 November 2024, the new permanent exhibition »The Schifflersgrund and the inner-German Border« opens at the new Schifflersgrund Border Museum on the approximately 1.5 km long former Iron Curtain between Thuringia and Hesse. The fragmented border landscape is reflected in the architecture and graphics. Through the glass front of the museum, visitors can see the original GDR barriers and the place where Heinz-Josef Große died.
